    FAD DIETS AND WHY WE FALL FOR THEM

    Fad diets have been around for many decades now and there has been just about everything you can think of from pills to potions, lotions and powders with still more to appear. Folks have been swindled, pilfered, cajoled, stung and had the wool pulled over their eyes more times than fleas on a camels back. Still we continue to pull out our credit cards to try the next one because they say it will work. I guess we always will as long as we think it’s the one that is going to turn our life around. “Just a soon as I lose all this weight I’m going to feel more confident and things are going to be better”. Oh by the way they have a pill for that too. It’s called a confidence pill, take one in the morning and one before you go to bed and your self confidence will magically appear.

    Quick, easy, painless and effortless that’s the key, that’s what will work for you.

    I don’t know if the medical profession has records of how many patients they get from the diet industry or as we say the latest fad diet. Often there are side affects that are overlooked by the consumer and this can lead to severe health problems if not treated properly. What drives us to risk our health all for the sake of looking slimmer?

    Perhaps one things is the pictures of ultra slim starlets and stars that are promoted to us on a continuous basis so much so that some of our young are afflicted with eating disorders in order to try and look like those trendy star images we see on TV.

    We see these images and then we get hit with the promotion of how would you like to look like that in just a very short time etc, etc.

    One simple answer is we are looking for something easy and that’s just what the advertisers are going to tell you. They know how to hit every hot button on you and the next thing your pulling our the credit card and making the purchase. Heck they even have

    “Testimonials” My god actual people telling us how good this new one is and how easy they lost their weight with just 15 minutes a day. I’m not writing this to embarrass anyone but to point out that “IF IT’S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE , THEN IS PROBABLY IS” .

    The truth of the matter is that losing weight takes effort, discipline and sacrifice to really lose weight the right way and learning to do the right things for the long term health benefits. We look for the external to fix the internal and in reality the internal must create the vision of what it wants in order for the external to appear.

  1. I have never believed those fake commercials with the guys with the six packs and the models with the legs that never stop. They didn’t get that way from dieting! It was from hard work and don’t let anyone tell you any different. Like everything in life there is no quick fixes, at least none that are free from consequences.
