    It seems like everyone is trying to lose weight—but why? Actually, there are a number of reasons why a person may want to lose rate, and these reasons are justified. Losing weight does have great advantages. Of course, there are always going to be horror stories about people who fall into the traps of eating disorders, but for the most part, losing weight is greatly to your advantage.

     

    The most obvious advantage to weight loss is, of course, the health benefits. When you are heavier than normal, you put our body at risk to develop a number of disease and conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and intestinal diseases. These can be prevents and more easily treated if you lose weight. Maintaining a Healthy Weight   is something that you and your doctor should discuss in order to make the best decisions for your body’s health.

     

    There are, however, other advantages as well. First and foremost, when you are of a normal weight, shopping for clothing is more fun and easier because you actually fit into clothing more readily. It can often be less expensive as well. The extra large sizes and beyond use more fabric to make, so many manufacturers raise the prices for these larger articles of clothing.

     

    Losing weight also can teach you about Healthy Eating  , which opens up a whole new world when it comes to food. Cooking with healthy, fresh ingredients can be really fun, and it can be an activity your do with a spouse or children so that the entire family is eating more healthy foods and focused on losing extra weight and maintain healthy weights. 

     

    Of course, one of the best advantages is how you will feel about yourself after you’ve lost the weight. Who doesn’t want to receive compliments from coworkers? Who doesn’t want to attend their high school reunions looking even prettier than when actually in high school? Who doesn’t want to smile at their appearance every day when looking in the mirror? Of course, for some people, this takes more than losing weight, but it’s a good start. Discuss your weight loss and potential happiness with a counselor to learn how feeling better about yourself can be possible.

     

    There are a number of other advantages to Losing Weight   as well—you’ll have more energy, be better able to play with your children, have a sense of achievement and much, much more.     You say there is not enough time to do things like work out!!  I’ll bet if you jotted down all the things you did in a day that you could find 30 minutes quite easily. We are creatures of habit and often we do things without even realizing what or when they happened. Take drinking coffee while reading the daily paper which most of us do and our reason is that you need to be informed about what’s going on the world.  You wouldn’t want to appear stupid by not being informed yet this doesn’t help us lose weight so which is worse not being informed or not losing weight? You snack, drink, eat, chew and read or watch the news or other programs because you think your supposed to be doing things like that and we say that there is no time. Sometimes it’s just a matter of making choices and if we really sat down and thought  about it we don’t make good time choices because we have habits that make them for us. It takes a couple of months to start and develop new habits so perhaps take some time and write down what new habits you would like to aquire and how you would go about it. Then write down the benefits of these new habits and you will see that it could be worth you time. Having your health is truly worth more than any news program or anything that you might read in the paper. Besides if you didn’t know something I’m sure a friend at work would be glad to inform you because it might make their day.

    Researchers are finding that there is no or very little difference in weight loss among the most popular fad diets. It all seems to come down to how much the participant is willing to commit 100% to the program that they are learning from. The biggest struggle seems to be getting dieters to start eating the proper amount of fruits and vegetables. My wife and I grew up with at least one vegetable on the table every supper and yet it is not that common. I don’t have a statistic for how many house holds eat fruits and such on a regular basis but it does seem below the norm. One of the things I’ve noticed and from my own snacking and extra weight at one time or another is we are used to being full or really full after a meal or after snacking and you don’t get that feeling from your fruits etc. It’s tough to rationalize with yourself that you’ve had enough when the hunger pangs haven’t yet subsided. That’s why they also say to take your time when eating and learn to let your stomach tell you when you’ve had enough to eat and not our eyes. We were out at a convention and it was the early hours in the morning when a half dozen of us decided to go to a restaurant to get a bite to eat. One of the fellows decided to order a full meal and we are talking about 3 or 4:oo am and when his meal arrived with mashed potatoes and the whole shooting match he began to eat as fast as he could. We we all staring at him laughing when I said John what the heck are you eating so fast for and his reply was I have to eat all this before my stomach tells me I’m full so we laughed even harder at that statement. But in reality that is so true since we load up our plates and begin to gulp down our  food and we remain focused on making sure our plates are clean and not at how much we have just eaten.  Whether you are using the Atkins diet or calorie shifting or whatever we need to slow down and enjoy our meals. Many dieters have started using a journal which helps them track their daily intake and this in turns shows them how much they eat during a day or week. Many  diets have similar characteristics in the process of teaching the beginner about  amounts and just what they are eating. We have eating habits like anything else and some of those habits are triggered by our surroundings. We do fine in external setting and when we arrive home it’s like our stomach takes on a life of it’s own. These familare surroundings set off our emotions and such so suddenly we have no will power so we give in and start munching. A journal can also help us to see those triggers and how to over come them

    The HCG Diet can help overweight people lose 1 - 3 pounds per day with little or no exercise. This is a very low calorie diet, well to be precise 500 calories a day so thats pretty low. You also receive by oral suspension or injection HCG as part of the process which helps your body use up the fat tissue in your body for it’s nutritional content and not utilize vitamins or your muscles to make up the difference from your low caloric intake.

    Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the embryo soon after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta). Its role is to prevent the disintegration of the corpus luteum of the ovary and thereby maintain progesterone production that is critical for a pregnancy in humans. hCG may have additional functions; for instance, it is thought that hCG affects the immune tolerance of the pregnancy. Early pregnancy testing, in general, is based on the detection or measurement of hCG. Because hCG is produced also by some kinds of tumor, hCG is an important tumor marker, but it is not known whether this production is a contributing cause or an effect of tumorigenesis. (Wikipedia)

    Will people take up this new fad diet? You bet because we love to try anything that is new or different and especially if it appears to be easy. I’m not sure if 500 calories a day is easy by any stretch but if you can make it through the first couple of weeks then you need and desire less food which is the what you ultimately want.They say you should consult your physician before attempting something like this blah, blah, blah.  I don’t know of any doctor that could keep up with all of the fad diets that hits the market and especially those that promote extremely low calorie intake such as this one.

    The HCG diet was created by one Dr. A. T. W. Simeons in the 1950s, and is now being promoted by Kevin Trudeau who if anyone wants to check has a less than sparkling past. Some folks seems to be  able to make lots of money by promoting things and in the diet industry if you have something thats new or easy then your going to make a splash. Like anything it’s consumer beware as this in an extreme one that many will try no matter what. One of many things I have not run across in this example is the “Cost” so that could be a limiting factor. If you are taking injections or oral drinks to help the process you can be sure that it’s more money out of you pocket so again beware and hang on tight to your credit card.

    Craig Ballantyne is the originator of the highly successful fat loss method Turbulence Training  . He is an regular contributor to Men’s Fitness Magazine & Maximum Fitness and his weight loss routines have been recognized by Jillian Michaels   who is the female trainer on the TV show Biggest Loser. Many of his workout routines which combine a rapid pace with multiple exercise movements stimulate the body to a high degree.

    Much of this was born out of necessity as his own schedule was extremely busy so he maximized his workout time by combining exercises and compressing them into a 50 minute workout. When he began to see the results in his own physique he then sat down and developed what we now see as Turbulence Training  .

    Many people have had weight problems and tried other weight loss programs have given raving testimonials on their own success due to his methods. Although there is no simple answer to our growing weight dilemma and some people feel that losing weight fast is not the answer as many people tend to gain it all back and more when they stop which in itself is another issue because your not meant to stop. I believe one of the key issues is people hit a point of success with their fat burn program and then quit doing it and a little while later go back to their old habits which led to an over weight state they want to change. What Craig’s Turbulence Training   does is at least allow people to see above average results and a short period and from there they can learn to develop other skill sets to continue with his Turbulence Training Programs  . One of the points I would like to make is people don’t have a clear cut vision of what they want to achieve from this weight loss program. My own e-book “Change Your Vision of You” which is coming out shortly will help people to continue working out with a long term action plan. This will combine some visualization with various goal setting methods to help the participant stay involved and committed.

    Losing weight can be difficult, but there are many programs to help you diet and exercise in healthy ways in order to take off the extra fat. One such diet is called the South Beach Diet, which is a plan developed by Dr. Arthur Agatson. This diet focuses on the glycemic index and helps participants learn the different between good and bad carbohydrates and fats. This diet is designed to work with your lifestyle so that you can live a healthy live for many years to come.

    The South Beach Diet is slightly different than other weight loss diets because is is divided in three phases, each with their own weight loss rules. Each phase comes with a list of foods allowed and forbidden foods and the program’s literature will give you information about why you’re eating what you are eating.

    Phase one lasts for two weeks and is very strict. In this phase, you eat few carbohydrates and remove a number of foods from your diet completely, including fruit, pasta, potatoes, alcohol, sugar, and bread. This phase is never meant to extend for the rest of your life, but is instead meant to kill certain cravings. Most dieters find that they do not crave breads or sugars after phase one. The theory behind phase one is that our bodies react to the foods we eat, so by completely cutting out all of the bad foods, we flip a switch that tells our body to react different and stop storing fat.

    During the second phase, you get to look at your forbidden foods lists and start to add them back into your diet. You can’t eat everything on the list without a care in the world, but you can pick the foods you enjoy most and add them back into your diet in moderation. After phase two, you enter the final phase, which is meant to last for the rest of your life. While there are a few basic rules to follow in phase three, by this time, the program’s guidelines should have become your way of life. Therefore, you won’t need restrictions any longer—you’ll just automatically make good eating choices.

    To follow the South Beach Diet, it is important for your to purchase and read the book that will give you completely guidelines. As always, remember to talk to your doctor before making any drastic changes in your diet, and plan exercise, because no matter how good a diet is, you won’t lose weight with healthy eating alone.

    Any diet takes to to adjust to so you need to give yourself time because you may make a few mistakes along the way by not having certain foods or sometimes giving into cravings. Eating is a habit just like anything else we do so taking on a new diet is like learning new habits. To implement a new habit takes about 60 days plus to really start to anchor it into your system

    Australia has now surpassed the United States as the fattest country in the world with more than 9 million adults being classified as overweight or obese.  This is a title that no one wants to brag about yet it is happening all over the world. We have become a planet of over eaters and less exercise. We have become a planet of consumers in the Big Mac world and there does not seem to be an end in site. This is the first generation that will not outlive their predecessor and even though we know we are killing ourselves, no one has the solution and few have the will power to make the change. The market will supply what the consumer wants so if we want junk food we get more of it. Obesity could literally bankrupt our health care system and we have only ourselves to blame so what is the answer do we have the government get involved with rules and regulations or do we spend more school time trying to educate our children about what they should eat and drink? It is difficult for children to know the difference when all they have to do is say “I’m Hungry” and we quickly take them to the nearest concession stand to quell the cries of anguish for fear of someone accuses us of abuse by letting the poor starving child suffer. I know we won’t fade away if dinner is late and making proper food choices is not always timely or convenient but do the right thing is not always easy either.

    People use many excuses to give reason to why they are not eating healthy foods. One of the most common of these excuses is that they have no time to worry about choosing the best foods and cooking them for themselves and their families. These people usually grab fast food or take-out instead of healthier foods, and these quick dinner fixes are full of bad fats and cholesterol, sugar, and empty calories. However, no matter how little time you have to spend in the kitchen and at the supermarket, there are ways in which you can eat in a healthy way without much time. Learning how to quickly eating healthily can make all the difference in perfecting your diet.

    Eating healthy foods begins with healthy ingredients, but if you are short on time, you may find that spending time in the grocery store does not fit into your schedule. To maximize your time, plan ahead for two weeks at a time. Instead of having to go to the store every time you need an ingredient, make a list and keep your refrigerator, freezer, and pantry stocked with good, healthy ingredients. You can make your shopping list during a meeting, while eating lunch, or while you are on the phone. A list will also help you cut back on compulsory buying, which is when we purchase a lot of the foods that are bad for us.

    Along with planning your shopping list, plan your meals as well. If you find little time to cook during the week, you can instead try making a few healthy meals in advance on the weekend and than putting them in your freezer. Before you go to work in the morning, simply stick the frozen dinner in the refrigerator to thaw and then pop into the oven to cook when you get home from work. This will help you avoid having to pick up fast food.

    When you do find yourself in the need of a quick meal and want to order out, look for healthy options. Instead of choosing a burger and fries, for example, look at the chicken breast options. Some fast food restaurants also have salads and fruit, but beware of dressing, which can be tons of fats and empty calories. Keep healthy drinks on hand at home instead of purchasing a soda as well. Better yet, stick the burger, pizza, and Mexican joints altogether and opt for a sandwich or sub shop instead, where you can choose a wheat bread and ask them to hold the mayonnaise.

    Healthy eating on the run will never be easy. However, putting a tad bit more time into is worth that extra effort, because you’ll be living a healthier life in the end. Using these tips will help you to quickly eat as healthily as possible.
